Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 30, 2026
S.A.M.I. only uses cookies that are needed for the product to work or that remember a preference you set. There are no advertising cookies, no third-party analytics cookies, and no cross-site tracking. Below is the exact list.
Strictly necessary
Required for the site to work. We do not ask consent for these, because the site cannot function without them.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| sami_access_token | HttpOnly session cookie — keeps you signed in to the dashboard and IDE for the active session. | 15 minutes (rolling) |
| sami_refresh_token | HttpOnly refresh cookie — silently renews the access token so you don’t get logged out mid-session. | 14 days |
| sami_csrf | CSRF token for state-changing requests. Required for billing, account, and admin actions. | Session |
Preference
Set after you opt in via the cookie banner or the dashboard preferences. You can clear them at any time.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| cookie_consent | Remembers whether you accepted the cookie banner so we don’t show it again. | 12 months |
| theme | Stores your dark / light theme choice. | 12 months |
| sami_locale | Stores your language preference (en / de) so future visits open in your language. | 12 months |
Local storage
The Desktop IDE uses your operating system's local storage to remember workspace settings, the last open project, the verbosity mode, and your shortcut preferences. This data never leaves your machine.
Controlling cookies
- Browser settings — every modern browser lets you block or clear cookies per site. Strictly-necessary cookies will be re-set the next time you sign in; preference cookies will remain cleared until you change them again.
- Sign out — clears your session cookies immediately.
- Account deletion — clears every server-side reference to your cookies and removes the underlying account record.
Why so few?
We don't run analytics dashboards, retargeting pixels, or marketing attribution. The product makes money on subscriptions, not on user telemetry, so we have no reason to load extra cookies into your browser. The same principle drives the AI Use Policy: less data, less liability.
